From pushing Pharmaceuticals to fake lottery scams, these bot-masters have done it all. It seems now thru the success of social engineering sites like Facebook, Yahoo360, and others, they (the spammers) have honed their skills at finding what people are most likely to hit their mouse button on
Fortunately up until this morning, we here at Spacequad had never experienced this type of email. Well, we could be so lucky for ever and not get any. But, we did, and we checked it out and, sure enough. It was a fake update to the Adobe flash player.

Hey spammers...has it ever occured to you that once a domain has been suspended/terminated, that it no longer resolves to a web page? Case in point, look at the following attempted spam posting to see what domain name had been shut down. So why do y9ou keep bothering to send out the same junk, even after the fact.

For sometime now we've noticed a marked increase of unsolicited email flowing into our network. We finally figured out why this has happened. It seems because of the line of work we are in, we've been targeted by these criminals. What they are now doing and we suspect this is happening all over the world to allot of other people, is that these spammers are actually writing scripts to subscribe people to mailing lists. This is one reason why most everyone are receiving more junk than usual.

Have you ever wondered why you seem to keep getting the same junk mail over and over day after day? Now we're not talking about spam from obvious spam bots either, this is from supposed legit email marketers. Here's few possible reasons that this is happening.
The marketing company has several hundred email domains that are chrning out emails day after day from each of these domains.
Some information gathered by http://www.e-consultancy.com below

Now that the spammers have been beaten back by the added amendments to the existing laws, the commercial spammers are almost as bad as the illegal spammers that run the botnets that are on the internet today. What we've found out is that a great majority of the spam Spacequad is receiving in terms of email spam, is that ninty-nine percent of it is coming from commercial emailers. How we determined this is, if you look at the domain from address and do a http web site scan, most likely you will find one of these possibilities that get displayed on the page:
Object not found.
Apache 2 Test Page
Blank Page
Server not found
This Site Is Under Construction and Coming Soon.
If any of these messages are displayed, then the domain name in the spam message gets listed automatically. This expecially holds true to any site that list the message or simular to it below. The reason for this is simple. Most people do not sign up for third party mail/ So this means that the site the person did sign up on to get whatever newsletter it was, sold their email list to a spammer or unauthorized marketing emailer.

For a site that talks about anything and everything about hacking and disruption of the internet, this site by the name of Whooked and here, if you cannot reach the content, has allot to be desired. Several months ago we sent a friendly message to them about a possible user spamming in their name and asked if they could check it out. Their response has been nothing but hatred and propaganda about us. Their forum posting on their site have been filled with libel and slander. We have on numerous times to ask that they refrain from posting such untrue content, but they continue to do so. So now we have but no choice to post this message in rebuttal and warn them if such content is not withdrawn from all of their sites, we will start formal criminal proceedings against the domain owners and hosting provider. At this point we are now asking that this site be taken down. If said whooked.com site is not taken down, court action will be taken at a time of our choosing. This has been an official public notice to the owners of WHOOKED.COM

Just when you thought the spam campaigns on the meds were trickling down, now they are trying to get Microsoft involved. However, most of us know better. MS would never get involved on a spam campaign. See below for an email that caught in our filters as 99.9 percent of spam does. We've changed the graphic link to the click here button because otherwise it would display a lewd picture.

Ever since the internet started out, we've always been hit by some type of spam that the marketing companies wanted us to see. For years these companies have tailored their pitches around how to get this junk into your inbox. The major problem with this, is that we as the people of the world, in ninty-nine percent of the time, are really no longer interested in what they have to send us. Take for example, the marketers are using throw-a-way domain names that are used to redirect traffic.

By now you probably wondering.... Why do these spammers continue to bother putting out all this spam? Expecially when there are organizations like us that take out the spammers web sites and links to them. We figure that we get anywhere's in the neighborhood of about five thousand spam posting attempts daily now. That equates out to one hundred and fifty thousand messages a month, just in web spam. This doesn't acount for the forty thousand daily email spams, that gets filtered out and canned before it even hits the mail server. So whats all this mean to you as the reader? Keep reading.

Even after the domain was terminated by us, the spammer continues to try and send their spam around the world. Now this is truely pathetic. This domain ringtonedingding.com has been shut down for quite some time. It does NOT resolve becuase ENOM has put a lock on it, and the original host provider had kicked them off of their server. Now usually we don't like it when a domain goes down, but if they are involved in spamming practices intentionally, then good riddins. See the spam posting on the full page or read more.

Over the last few days we have noticed an increase of 10, 000 spam posting attempts by spammers trying to post gambling and ring tones spam. A great majority of this (99%) was due to an exploit in the wordpress software. This exploit allows a spammer to gain access to the wp-content directory and upload what ever they want. The directory that the spammer has chosen to create is /wp-content/1/. After making that directory, they upload an archive and unzip it so to speak. Within this newly created and unpacked directory contents is several html file and a java script file.

As of last month the porn spam had dried up, but appearently not that dry. It seems that this spam ring has infiltrated the same hosting company we had previously worked with to get it stopped from. So here we are again, reporting back to the same hosting company to stop it again. It shouldn't be too long before the spammers are shut down again. We've noticed that the spam gang has now involved yet another hosting company to send their crud from. So that comapny has now been informed as well.

There has been allot of problems with spam on cell phones in Japan and surrounding areas. Its nice to know that the local government there has finally stepped in to do a full investigation into the problem that has plagued everyone there.
We've recently come across a spam posting (See below) advertising a service that pays affiliates to spam people on their cell phones. This service is called Earn By Ads located in India, and has their hosting currently provided by SouthWeb Ventures. From what I can find is that this sefvice psys the person that signed up to advertise (spam) other cell phones and only if the person that got spam signs up as an affiliate or willing subcriber to receive these messages.

As we venture now three months into 2008, where are we heading with spam? Some say its only going to get worse and yet some say its going to get cleaned up. I for one think that we as a internet community are going to continue to see an in flux of hostile individuals or groups of hackers and spammers not stopping or slowing down.

For those that have to have a forum located on their website, it is no longer feasable to just plug and prey that everything is going to work out for you. You MUST ensure that your domain is secure from hackers and spammers taking over your site to use it as a hosting place for their SPAM postings. There are several forum scripts out on the internet today that are so insecure, that most script kiddies can have them rewritten or maybe they created a user account that was esculated to root access. From there the spammer can do just about anything they want. About ninty-five percent will just give themselves root/admin privaledges and do their damage and move on.

For those that know how the fight with the spam is going, we are happy to anounce that curent spam levels have dropped for web spam. We at Spacequad AntiSpam Services have worked vary dilegently on shutting down spam web sites or links leading to them. The current spammers are hard at trying to regroup and get their new domains in action to start spamming us all again. However, we beat them back and give them no real foothold to keep making money on their illegal advertising methods. The past spam run was not much of a real challenge for us as we were inandated by Casino, Ringtones, or Credit Card scams. Now these spammers are back at it again and trying to use the same domains that are no longer funtioning. Appearently, they don't care or are blind to the fact that these links in the spam pages will not work. If you've seen our suspended domains list, you know that we are serious about shutting these sites down. We have many avenues of pursuit to take criminals of the net and we have used all of them with sucess. Those that who have had their sites, domains, or hosting companies shut down, know who we are.

Recently we've been receiving emails from readers on how many spammer domains we've had a hand in suspending or terminating because of spam related issues. So instead of writting all these people back individually, we've decided to post the list on the site here for all to view. Yes, this means even the spammers can view it as well. Those spammers out there know who we are if they've had their domains suspended by us. We gave all spammers plenty of warnings about what would happen if they continued to spam us. Some have stopped, and yet others kept sending. Those that kept sending, found their domains suspended eventually. We've even had entire hosting companies suspended because they did not ahear to our warnings. If you are a spammer and do not want your domains terminated or your hosting provider shutting you down, then stop spamming us. If we do not get spam from you, then we cannot report it. Your choice!

Isn't it great! Finally some action has taken place with a bunch of these spam links. If you've been paying attention to these links that you see on your sites and have tried to click on them to goto like Google or Yahoo, the only thing that comes up is the text versions of the spammers advertised spam postings. The images and the forwarded auto-links have disappeared. Yeah!! Chalk another one up for us. Bet the spammers are just fumin now, because their domains or ISP's are shutting them down one by one for terms of service abuse. Nice!!! Allot of the free portals have now finally started to clean their sites up or have increased the security so that spammers can't easily post junk to these free sites anymore. Thats also nice!
We wonder if these poor spammers are making any money lately. Opps there I said the word "poor", am I right in that assesment? They gotta be starting to feel the pinch by now! Ohh well, they were warned. Life goes on. With all their talents, you'd thing that they could put it to good use instead of sucking up other peoples resources.

Successful spam fighting via legalization, regulation and economics.
Ever since 1995 or there abouts, spam on the internet has been an issue for almost everyone in the world. We've seen all types of spam from gambling, mortgage, pharma, and even stock spam. What is interesting is that today the spam levels are down because of economic trends in the market place has play a key role in the spammer ability to put this junk in your mailbox or spam your weblog. A good article from ZDNet explains more in depth what the author thinks really is happening and to a point, he is correct. Spam restrictions need to be tightened even more. By cutting off the flow of cash and means to process these payments to the spammers, they will effectively be shutting down the spam operations for that particular product or service.

How many of you have noticed the steep increase of spam pages at Google and Yahoo Pages? Feel free to let us know. We've been reporting new cases everyday and some of the daily records reached as high as 3000 pages that spammers have created and tried to spam our website with. Thats fine. As soon as the new day comes along, we just compile the list in a matter of minutes and forward this list off to either Google or Yahoo. Then they go thru it and start the mass delete on their end. Neat eh? So as it stands for now until the spammers find a new home to spam from, its going to be a hit and miss with them. Well, maybe they are out for a good while, because we took down their London ISPServer location. We'll keep you updated as things progress.

With all the spam that has been entering Spacequad in the last few months or so, we have been terminating domain names and websites that have proven to be excesivly abusive. We now have been in a slow period, where we have not received very much spam at all. This includes spam from various source to include web spam, email spam, and comment/trackback spam. So hopefully now that we've managed to turn back the tide, we can only continue to hope that the spammers have either lost interest or have not been able to reestablish a foot hold on a new internet connection to host their spam pages or even more, to even get on the net .

Have you ever wondered about how many domain names a spammer need just for one site? We have too. And we are astounded by the shear numbers that they have, just for a single site. Have a look at some of our listings and you can see that besides the number of domain names they have just for that one product, they also have a backup for that site. So many, that we just had to write this article. We figured they were criminals, but after looking at all the shear numbers, they are worse. The numbers are factual and the spammer are certainly enjoying the fat life of crime. We cannot give you an exact count, because the number constantly changes from moment to moment.. However, its safe to say that at any given time there are an approximate 100 million spam domains or more, that have been registered around the world.

Its about time! Finally a good portion of website administrators are actually starting to crack down on spam. Must be that they are tired of seeing it on their own sites or they are getting numerous complaints that they have no choice to clean it up. In either case, its nice to see that the spammers are working so hard to spin their wheels and really going no place. Sure its sometimes a headache to see a bunch of junk in the logs, thats if you keep one, but its easily deleted.

With all the new free forums that are popping up around the net, its no wonder the rest of the world has been experiencing an onslaught of spam. Whether it be for pushing some type of pharmaceutical drugs or some other products that the general public doesn't really want to see. Hasn't the email been enough for these criminals to be content with? Apparently not! We here at Spacequad have been seeing allot of attempted spam postings and are here to say, that not one of them has made it through to be posted on the actual site. Unlike PHPBB, that CMS is full of code that the spammers love to see running. Its only because they know the authors don't care or can't find the holes in the scripts to plug them. As a matter of fact, we've contacted several of the domain owners to fix their sites and have yet to see anything done that resulted in a decrease in activity.

To whom it may concern,
Is there anything your orginization can do to make your Registrars in China more readable for the Whois records? Most of the world is having dificulties finding the proper Registrars with CN domains. Believe it or not, this is how most of the spammers are getting away from being shut down because they know that they cannot be tracked when they use CN names. Please require your Registrars to comply with ICANN's rules and policies. If you do not, I feel that eventually the rest of the world will start putting entire network blocks on any and all IPs leading out of China. Ever more so, now that the Russian Business Network (RBN) a well known criminal organization, has moved their operations to China. Simply because they cannot be tracked or shut down easily. In the end, its up to your organization and the Government of China to put a stop to these criminals, before the rest of the world pulls your feed access to them. Your choice! Please respond to this email.
Thank you for your time in this abusive matter.
